Los Angeles

In April 2011 Renato Balestra arrives in Los Angeles with the inauguration of his personal exhibition “Fashion is Culture” at the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles.

The exhibition traced the milestones of his prestigious career through 150 drawings and sketches including some of his most important haute couture models, opera theatre costumes and uniforms.

Renato Balestra’s high fashion was the protagonist of “A Night of Hope”, a charity gala in favor City of Hope, a non-profit organization that for many years has been involved in the fight against cancer and diabetes.

Always a supporter of important humanitarian initiatives, Renato Balestra presented in Hollywood, at the Millennium Biltmore, about 150 dresses from the “Archive” collection up to the Spring-Summer 2011 collection. A real show that ended with special choreographies in homage to the United States and for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.
