Opera

Renato Balestra has a unique interest in the arts including theatre, opera and ballet which prompts him to design the costumes for the stage play Right You Are (if you think so) of Luigi Pirandello directed by Franco Zeffirelli (1985), for Gioachino Rossini’s Cinderella at the Teatro dell ‘Opera di Belgrade (1988), for Der Rosenkavalier (The Knight of the Rose) by Richard Strauss at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, on the occasion of the opening of the opera season (1999). Renato Balestra also creates the costumes for the musical Cinderella produced by Broadway-Asia Entertainment which from 2009 to 2011 will begin a world tour touching the major Asian cities up to America. In 2019 he designs the costumes for Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, for the Belgrade Opera House.
